OTTAWA, Aug. 27, 2012 /CNW/ - In the opinion of the Federation of Canadian Naturists (FCN) and Fédération québécoise de naturisme (FQN) the nudists arrested by the RCMP, September 2011 and July 2012, at Little Beach, Gatineau Park were wrongly charged under Section 174 (1a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The signage posted by the National Capital Commission (NCC) and MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais is a misrepresentation of the Criminal Code of Canada under Section 174 (2).
The clothing-optional tradition in Gatineau National Park, was established 86 years ago and to this day has never been offensive to the general public.
The FCN and FQN request that NCC and the MRC designate Little Beach as a clothing-optional beach, similar to Hanlan's Beach in the heart of Toronto and Wreck Beach adjacent to UBC in Vancouver.
