LONGUEUIL, QC, Aug. 16, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) would like to inform road users that maintenance work scheduled on the Nuns' Island Bridge will take place at midnight on Friday, August 17 until noon on Sunday, August 19.
During this period, a single lane will be open towards Montreal and towards the South Shore for most of the weekend on Highway 15 and Nuns' Island Bridge at the entrance of the Champlain Bridge. It is recommended that road users take the Bonaventure Expressway to access or exit the Champlain Bridge. All lanes will be open to traffic on the Champlain Bridge.
Please also note the complete closure of Exit 60 (Verdun / Wellington St.) of Highway 15 North during this period. In addition, the entrance to Highway 15 North from the Nun's Island will be closed. The road users must take a detour by the Bonaventure Expressway and Pierre-Dupuy Exit, in order to access the Highway 15 northbound.
This closure has been scheduled at the same time as major road work on the Turcot Interchange on the Highway 15 North axis, in order to minimize the number of traffic hindrances in this corridor.
Please note that this road work may be rescheduled due to unfavourable weather conditions.
