Nutrients for Life Foundation Canada and Inside Education partner for educational excellence
OTTAWA, March 7, 2016 /CNW/ - Nutrients for Life Foundation Canada has partnered with Inside Education to establish a regional hub in Alberta to strengthen the foundation's learning garden program.
Inside Education will develop seven learning gardens in Alberta annually, allowing more students to discover soil science and sustainable agriculture. Learning gardens are outdoor, educational environments encouraging students to explore the science behind food production.
"Inside Education is an ideal partner for the learning garden program," said Bob Adamson, Chairperson of Nutrients for Life Foundation Canada. "Their extensive network in Alberta will help Nutrients for Life inform Albertans about the critical role plant nutrients play in sustainable agricultural practices, while enabling students to think critically about our environment."
Through learning gardens, students explore how modern agriculture, gardening, and plant nutrients play a valuable role in food production, health, and sustainability. Learning gardens build environmental awareness while strengthening collaboration, teamwork, and leadership in the community.
"We are delighted to partner with Nutrients for Life to assist in the empowerment of young stewards by bringing environmental education to classrooms," said Steve McIsaac, Executive Director of Inside Education. "We believe in experiential learning and our partnership with Nutrients for Life allows for fostering a new generation of stewards of our environment and natural resources."
