ALMA, QC, Sept. 15, 2017 /CNW/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
Nutrinor Coopérative (website in French only) can consolidate its role as a leader in the agri-food sector and continue to create jobs for Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean families thanks to $1,000,000 in financial assistance from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions.
Denis Lemieux, Member of Parliament for Chicoutimi–Le Fjord, acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, made the announcement earlier this morning in the plant on Saint-Jude Boulevard.
The expansion of the Alma dairy processing plant and the installation of a new production line for the development of new products will help Nutrinor diversify its dairy processing activities to provide niche products and improve its position in the marketplace. This initiative is directly in line with the commitment to support innovative Canadian businesses, a top priority for the Government of Canada.
The funding granted in the form of a repayable contribution through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program will go toward the expansion work and help the business acquire new strategic equipment.
