Ontario Science Centre hosts book launch for new children's book ABC of Toronto
TORONTO, July 16, 2013 /CNW/ - Join author-illustrator Per-Henrik Gürth's friendly animal characters in the latest addition to his children's ABC book series: ABC of Toronto. This charming alphabet book explores the sights and sounds of Toronto's attractions, communities, and landmarks.
Travel through Toronto from the letter A (for AGO) to Z (for Zoo), and in between: the B for Beach, C for CN Tower, F for Fort York, S for streetcars, T for the turrets of Casa Loma, W for Ward's Island, Y for Yonge Street - and everywhere else!
"We are very excited to be launching this book with Kids Can Press," says Lesley Lewis, CEO, Ontario Science Centre. "It provides a wonderful opportunity to support both children's literacy and the vibrant communities and attractions in our amazing city. The ABC of Toronto will engage our youngest visitors, their families, and the whole community in celebrating the landmarks of our city."
The Ontario Science Centre page in the book reads "O is for Ontario Science Centre - have some hair-raising fun!" and features a playful illustration of a moose and a raccoon guest at the Science Centre's famous Electricity Show.
The ABC of Toronto book launch begins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2013 in the Procter & Gamble Great Hall, Level 2, at the Ontario Science Centre. It is open to the public (with general admission to the Ontario Science Centre). The event will feature a book reading by ABC of Toronto author-illustrator Per-Henrik Gürth, children's activities, and a "hair-raising" Electricity Show.
The ABC of Toronto book is published by Kids Can Press.
