Celebrating achievement in engineering technology
TORONTO, Sept. 30, 2015 /CNW/ - The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) invites you to join us for an evening honouring those who have made significant contributions to the engineering and applied science technology profession.
On Friday, October 2, at 7:00 p.m., at the Arcadian Court in Toronto, OACETT's Provincial Honours & Awards Gala will bring together stakeholders from industry, academia, government and other associations to celebrate 27 outstanding individuals and organizations who have helped to advance the profession and OACETT through technical, volunteer or educational achievements.
"OACETT's Honours & Awards Gala offers a singular opportunity for our members and partners to come together and take pride in our collective accomplishments," says OACETT President Bob van den Berg, C.E.T. "Celebrating those who have brought positive recognition to the profession through developing people, products, services or education reminds us of the many ways our members make a difference in the lives of others."
We're thrilled to have award-winning comedian, best-selling author and host of television's Eat St. James Cunningham in the role of master of ceremonies. James will bring his humour and showmanship to the proceedings.
Awards will be presented in ten categories over the course of the evening, recognizing contributions in community service, article authorship, technical achievement, volunteer service to the Association and the wider community, advancement of women in technology, the betterment of humankind, and education of future engineering technicians and technologists.
Among the colleges represented by this year's Outstanding Educator Award recipients are Algonquin College, Fanshawe College, Humber College, Loyalist College and Niagara College.
Mingle with guests and congratulate the honorees at the cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m., then share in the excitement as the winners accept their awards during the dinner and presentation at 7:00 p.m.
