GATINEAU, QC, Sept. 19, 2017 /CNW/ - Habitations de l'Outaouais métropolitain received support from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's Seed Funding Program to develop seven affordable housing units on Oak Street in Gatineau.
Steven MacKinnon, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Services and Procurement and Member of Parliament for Gatineau, on behalf of the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and Minister Responsible for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), today announced $50,000 for the construction of seven affordable housing units intended for individual suffering from both temporary and permanent mental health issues.

- Habitations de l'Outaouais métropolitain is a non-profit organisation. Its mission is to develop affordable housing in the greater Gatineau area.
- The Oak Street project received a non-repayable contribution of $10,000 and an interest-free loan of $40,000 to help cover some of the soft costs associated with this affordable housing project.
