OANHSS Announces New Chief Executive Officer

TORONTO, Dec. 13, 2016 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors of the Ontario Association of Non-Profit Homes and Services for Seniors (OANHSS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Catharine Gapp as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 9, 2017.
"Cathy is an accomplished leader who is passionate about our mission and commitment to not-for-profit seniors' care and services," said Debra Cooper Burger, OANHSS Board Chair. "We are very excited about the breadth and depth of knowledge and expertise she will bring to this role through her long and progressive career in the public, charitable and corporate sectors."
Ms. Gapp was most recently the Special Advisor to the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care where she provided strategic advice on the impact of capacity planning and redevelopment in long term care. Prior to that, she was Chief of Staff for Hon. Dipika Damerla, Associate Minister of Health (Long Term Care Homes and Wellness). Her diverse background also includes her role as Senior Policy Advisor to the Minister of Health Promotion, and senior policy positions with the Canadian Cancer Society and Johnson & Johnson, Inc. Ms. Gapp brings a wealth of experience in health care advocacy, policy development and analysis, strategic initiatives and stakeholder relations.

OANHSS is the provincial association representing not-for-profit providers of long term care, services and housing for seniors. Members include not-for-profit long term care homes (municipal, charitable and non-profit nursing homes), seniors' housing, supportive housing, and community service agencies. Member organizations serve over 36,000 long term care residents annually and operate over 8,000 seniors' housing units across the province.
