OCUFA announces 2009-2010 Teaching and Academic Librarianship Award Winners
TORONTO, Sept. 22 /CNW/ - The Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA) is pleased to announce the winners of its prestigious Teaching and Academic Librarianship Awards. Since 1973, these awards have recognized exceptional contributions to the quality of higher education in Ontario.
"Passionate and engaged teachers are the foundation of the high quality universities so important to Ontario's success," said Prof. Mark Langer, President of OCUFA. "This year's award winners exemplify the spirit of leadership and innovation that makes for an excellent learning experience at our province's institutions."
The 2009-2010 award recipients are:
- Andrea Buchholz, Associate Professor in the Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition, University of Guelph
- Donald Leslie, Professor in the School of Social Work, University of Windsor.
- Susan McCahan, Professor in the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, University of Toronto
- Shafique N. Virani, Associate Professor in the Department of Historical Studies & Study of Religion, University of Toronto Mississauga
- Michael J. Wiley, Professor and Chair of the Division of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto
The 37th annual awards ceremony will take place at the Fairmont-Royal York Hotel in Toronto on October 23, 2010.
