Ode to Whisky: Celebrate Robbie Burns Night with Dewar's Scotch Egg Club

Dewar's Scotch Egg Club returns to Toronto for a one-night only Snack + Dram Bar for the ultimate colonial munchie mash-up

TORONTO, Jan. 24, 2018 /CNW/ - What do haggis, tatties, ketchup chips and maple syrup all have in common? These are just some of the ingredients that will be served at the Dewar's Scotch Egg Club: Snack + Dram Bar. To celebrate the Scottish lyrical bard, Robbie Burns, the Dewar's Scotch Egg Club is back in Toronto for its second year and is opening up a one-night only hip and cool Snack + Dram Bar featuring a mash-up of six traditional Scottish and Canadian snack foods, bringing two delicious cuisines together. Snacks will be paired with a Dewar's cocktail for the ultimate combination of Scottish-Canadian fare.

The famed whisky pop-up started in Brooklyn and has travelled around the globe to celebrate Tommy Dewar's three passions: whisky, games… and chickens. In addition to producing the finest whisky, Tommy Dewar and his sons raised a collection of pedigree chickens which laid some of the best eggs. This was the origin of the relationship between scotch eggs and Dewar's.

The celebrations at the Dewar's Scotch Egg Club: Snack + Dram Bar will be hosted by UK award-winning comedian and cook, George Egg. Expect power tools, gardening equipment, and office supplies to be re-purposed and abused all in the name of raucous laughter as George re-enacts the hilarious making of snacks.

"My whisky friends, you're in for a special Burns' Night like never before as the Dewar's Scotch Egg Club returns as a Snack and Dram bar in celebration of Rabbie Burns!" says acclaimed UK comedic cook, George Egg. "Dewar's is flipping the traditional merriment on its head for the modern scotch lover – combining the world's most awarded blended scotch with a delicious mash-up of Scottish-Canadian snacks – and I'm thrilled to be a part of it."

.50 parts Simple syrup
.25 parts. Crème du Mure
Garnish with Blackberry
Fill with crushed ice and stir
