OEB approves rate changes for Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc.
TORONTO, Dec. 21 /CNW/ - Today the Ontario Energy Board approved changes to the natural gas commodity prices Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc. (Enbridge) charges its customers effective January 1, 2011.
Residential consumers who purchase natural gas directly from Enbridge and use 3,064 cubic meters (m(3)) a year will pay approximately $60 less per year. The change reflects a decrease in what Enbridge forecasts it will have to pay for the natural gas it supplies its customers over the next 12 months and changes to the gas supply cost adjustment refund for the period of January 1st to March 30th 2011.
------------------------------------------------------------------------- Natural Gas Price Cost Adjustment cents/m(3) Effective Price cents/m(3) cents/m(3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 14.4229 -2.1734 12.2495 -------------------------------------------------------------------------
Consumers will pay 14.4229 cents/m3 for the natural gas they use between January 1st and March 30th 2011. When combined with the gas supply cost adjustment, consumers will pay an effective rate of 12.2495 cents/m(3).
Every three months, the Board reviews the natural gas commodity prices Enbridge charges its customers and adjusts them if necessary.
