OEB approves rate changes for Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc.
TORONTO, Sept. 23 /CNW/ - Today the Ontario Energy Board approved changes to the natural gas commodity prices Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc. (Enbridge) charges its customers effective October 1, 2010.
Residential consumers who purchase natural gas directly from Enbridge and use 3,064 cubic meters (m(3)) a year will pay approximately $60 less per year. The change reflects a decrease in what Enbridge forecasts it will have to pay for the natural gas it supplies its customers over the next 12 months and a higher gas supply cost adjustment refund for the period of October 1st to December 31st, 2010.
------------------------------------------------------------------------- Natural Gas Price Cost Adjustment Effective Price cents/m(3) cents/m(3) cents/m(3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 15.4224 -1.6406 13.7818 -------------------------------------------------------------------------
Consumers will pay 15.4224 cents/m3 for the natural gas they use between October 1st and December 31st. When combined with the gas supply cost adjustment, consumers will pay an effective rate of 13.7818 cents/m(3).
Every three months, the Board reviews the natural gas commodity prices Enbridge charges its customers and adjusts them if necessary.
