OEB issues Rate Adjustment for Union Gas Limited

TORONTO , Sept. 14 /CNW/ - Today the Ontario Energy Board approved changes to natural gas commodity and delivery rates charged by Union Gas Limited (Union) effective October 1, 2009 . The new rates reflect two Board decisions: the Board's August 6, 2009 Decision approving Union's 2008 Deferral Accounts Disposition and the Quarterly Rate Adjustment Mechanism (QRAM).

The QRAM rates for the period October 1st to December 31st are as follows:

Depending on their location, consumers who purchase natural gas directly from Union (system gas customers), and who use 2,600 cubic meters (m(3)) a year, will see their bills will decrease between $95 and $113 annually as a result of the QRAM.

Consumers who purchase their natural gas from a natural gas marketer (direct purchase customers) will see a decrease between $0 and $5 to their annual bill.

The Deferral Account Disposition Decision results in a six month temporary credit reflected on bills starting October 1 .
