"I want our complex to become a meeting place for people of all ages."
Nathalie Messias, General Manager of Sélection Vaudreuil
LAVAL, QC, July 4, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - The official opening of Sélection Vaudreuil, Réseau Sélection's newest retirement complex, located in Vaudreuil-Dorion, took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The complex's team members welcomed about fifty residents to their new homes, along with their relatives, who were all smiles.
"This past year has given us the opportunity to meet with our future residents, build relationships with the Vaudreuil-Dorion community and to prepare the ground for this opening. I am very pleased to start this new adventure today," said Nathalie Messias, Sélection Vaudreuil's General Manager. "Each new resident represents a mark of confidence that makes my heart warm. I am committed to honoring this trust."
Participants were invited to a cocktail with light snacks and drinks, punctuated by the sounds of live jazz musicians, who helped to brighten the event and enabled participants to socialize with future neighbors.
An inter-generational meeting place
The site's executive director wants Sélection Vaudreuil - and related shops in the HealthyID area that will be open to the public, - to become a meeting place that fosters intergenerational exchanges. "I want to help to create moments where people of all ages can exchange tips, knowledge and ideas," said Ms. Messias. Recall that Réseau Sélection created the Breakfast with the Kids movement, in collaboration with the Breakfast Club of Canada, to encourage and facilitate intergenerational exchanges.
There are still units available!
The new $45 million complex includes 198 rental units, from studios to 4 ½ room apartments. The 12-story Sélection Vaudreuil building - the tallest in the area – provides unobstructed views all the way to Mount Royal. There are also a range of services offering inside.
