MONTREAL, May 26, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Montréal's 375th anniversary celebrations continue with La Grande Tournée, which has now landed in the Rivière-des-Prairies-Pointe-aux-Trembles borough. Art and history are also at the forefront thanks to a special edition of Montreal Museums Day: 43 museums will open their doors on Sunday, May 28, offering a wealth of exhibitions and entertainment to Montréalers. This year's special edition invites visitors to embark on a museum rally for Montréal's 375th anniversary: learn more about some lesser-known parts of the city and its history by discovering a unique selection of 43 unusual objects.

A major 375th event, La Grande Tournée, presented by Cirque Éloize, will be travelling from one end of the city to the other all summer long to celebrate its history and its people, have fun and live it up in our communities. Symphony for Montréal
A unique auditory and visual experience hosted by Kent Nagano, the OSM and Moment Factory. Maestro Kent Nagano and the OSM invite you to an out-of-the-ordinary symphonic experience, the fruit of a collaboration between the internationally heralded young Canadian composer, Samy Moussa, and the equally world-renowned multimedia entertainment studio Moment Factory, to create a unique new work celebrating the 375th anniversary of Montreal. ScaveNDGers
The ScaveNDGers project is divided into three separate events. "Marathon" participants will take part in a week-long mission to accomplish creative and engaging community-oriented tasks. "Sprint" participants will take part in a one-day race to complete smaller tasks throughout the NDG area. The entire community will then have the opportunity to interact with a temporary exhibit at the NDG Cultural Centre that will showcase the completed tasks in the form of photographs, videos, and artwork.

Montréal AVUDO
Montréal AVUDO – a spectacular show that pays tribute to the Saint-Lawrence River – will come to life with enormous projections inspired the city's history. Get ready to travel back in time! It is represented here by an outdoor public space that will serve as a meeting place between artists and residents who will share a moment of reflection and make a creative gesture together. Streets of Montreal
The Streets of Montreal is a project that will tell the story of eight historic places in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie and five in the Plateau-Mont-Royal. Montréal, toute une histoire
An historical and fun tour along the Saint Lawrence between the Maison Saint-Gabriel and the Lachine Museum using a free mobile app, a game, and a series of outdoor panels. Close to 50 places of interest have already been identified on the 17km path. This route will be divided into areas for those who wish to explore on foot and those who wish to do so by bike but don't want to go the whole way. They will be identified on a geo-referenced map. The path will have two parts: an interpretive route accessed through the bilingual application, which can be viewed or downloaded either in its entirety or in selected areas. The application can also be downloaded on a mobile phone via interpretation panels located on site. Two approaches will be proposed for the path: one that is more informative, cultural and historical with audio clips and photos, accessible to all, and a playful one with a quest or a game, ideal for families.

Expo 67 – A World of Dreams
Sometimes it takes a dream. There's no question that Montreal dreamed big in the early 1960s; big enough to be chosen as host city of North America's first "Universal and International Exhibition", also known as Expo 67. In commemoration of this dream and the amazing technological innovations that accompanied it, the Stewart Museum, in partnership with the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) features a brand-new exhibit on an event that struck a deep chord in Quebec and throughout the world. Presented on Île Sainte-Hélène, the exhibit, which is divided into six themes, offers people of all ages the chance to step back in time - through video mapping, virtual reality and soundscapes - and relive the excitement of that period. Immersive installations include Habitat 67 and the Labyrinth, a precursor to the IMAX. Outdoor guided tours of the former Expo 67 sites are also offered.
