Montreal's 375th anniversary celebrations
LET'S CELEBRATE WITH MUSIC AND HISTORY!
MONTRÉAL, Aug. 31, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - This week, Montrealers are kicking off back to school season by celebrating with history and music! Hochelaga, Terre des Âmes, the latest film by François Girard (director of The Red Violin) will be shown for free on September 6th at the Cinéma Impérial, before the grand premiere at Place des Arts. Over the weekend, electronic dance music fans are invited to Électro Parade – Montréal to dance in the streets to top billing DJs while celebrate Montréal's lively extravagance and joie de vivre!
And finally, lovers of Montréal are invited to celebrate the borough of Saint-Léonard with their community and family while partaking in all the activities programmed at the friendly Wilfrid-Bastien Park and in the neighbouring alleys.

La Grande Tournée
A major 375th event, La Grande Tournée, presented by Cirque Éloize, will be travelling from one end of the city to the other all summer long to celebrate its history and its people, have fun and live it up in our communities. It will give everyone who loves Montréal the chance to discover the city's charms and secrets, celebrate with their families and get to know their neighbours. The fun will also spill out onto an adjacent street or back alley where other events also await.

Paysages Urbains
September 1st (September 2017 to September 2018) - Espace La Fontaine
Creation of a photographic mural depicting the identity of the Plateau Mont-Royal by artists Miki Gingras and Patrick Dionne. This public art project aims to mobilize citizens to speak out through images around the theme of identity. The large-scale mural will be installed on the blind wall of Espace Lafontaine and will showcase the distinctive character and history of the Plateau and its residents. The work will invite residents to participate in the spirit of togetherness.

Électro Parade – Montréal
On September 2nd, parade floats will be going from the base of Mount Royal (on Park Avenue) all the way to Place des Festival in Quartier des Spectacles for a night filled with music, dancing and fun! Montrealers are invited to come pick their favorite parade float/DJs and dance along with them in the parade. The gathering begins at 2pm and the parade kicks off at 4pm!

Synopsis: A tremendous downpour hits Montreal, and a spectacular sinkhole opens up in Percival Molson Stadium in the middle of a football game. The stadium is evacuated, and a few hours later, it becomes a protected archaeological site

De Ville-Marie à demain
From September 7 to 12 - Place des Arts
De Ville-Marie à demain, an event organised by the promoter Robert J. Vézina from Gestion Villes du Futur, is part of the official programming of the celebrations of Montréal's 375th anniversary. This monumental exhibition will piece together 3D models, posters and virtual reality presentations showcasing significant buildings and major ground installations which left their marks in Montréal's history.

Les Soirées ART - CULTURE Autochtones 375e
Since 2010, the Soirées ART-CULTURE Autochtones – indigenous art and culture nights – have provided a meeting place for indigenous s and non-indigenous Quebecers. Organized by UQAM's First Nations Circle (CPNUQAM), the evenings have a fun, relaxed atmosphere, far removed from formal political discourse, focusing instead on community and art. The evenings are intended to inspire reflection, sharing and mutual respect, and have become essential monthly gatherings.
