OGRA is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Traini as the 2018-2019 President
OAKVILLE, ON, March 1, 2018 /CNW/ - Chris Traini officially became President of the Ontario Good Roads Association during the inaugural Board of Directors meeting held Wednesday, February 28 2018.
As the County Engineer for the County of Middlesex, Chris brings years of experience and knowledge to the Board and the Association as President.
Chris was elected to the Board in 2014 to serve as Director and represent the Southwestern Zone. He has lent his expertise to OGRA in many areas but in particular has been closely involved with the Minimum Maintenance Standards. Chris continues to serve as a committee member of the MMS Task Force and continues to offer support and advice to staff and members in this area. Chris' professional affiliations include the Professional Engineers of Ontario and National Association of County Engineers.
Chris is directly involved with OGRA's annual Guelph Road School as a Course Director where he has taught the Rural and Urban Design and Construction course and currently is the co-course Director for the Overview of Municipal Roads Design and Construction.
Chris has several objectives as the 2018-2019 OGRA President, which include building new relationships with Associations and fostering current partnerships. Supporting OGRA Member Services and promoting the value of Municipal DataWorks, The Winter Web App and The Road Authority. Chris is committed to continuing our advocacy efforts and being the voice of municipalities with both re-elected and newly elected MPPs. And finally, build on the strong roster of volunteers OGRA works with to provide a robust education and training program.
The Board of Directors sets policy and provides direction to OGRA through a unique combination of elected officials and municipal staff.
The mandate of the Ontario Good Roads Association is to represent the infrastructure interests of municipalities through advocacy, consultation, training and the delivery of identified services.
