TORONTO, Jan. 27, 2023 /CNW/ - Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) is thrilled once again to have been selected for Forbes' prestigious list of Canada's Best Employers. This year, OLG moved up the ranks, placing in the top 15 per cent on the list of companies recognized in 2023.
"It is an honour to again be recognized on Forbes' list of top employers in Canada and to know that so many of our employees would recommend OLG as a great place to work," said Duncan Hannay, OLG's President and CEO. "OLG is an employer of choice, and I am proud to work alongside all OLGers as we transform gaming entertainment in Ontario and make a difference for people throughout the province."
This year, OLG ranked 41 out of 300 companies on the Canada's Best Employers List, moving up 12 spots since 2022 — and placed second in its industry.
Forbes and Statista Inc. selected the Canada's Best Employers 2023 through an independent survey of employees working for companies with more than 500 employees in Canada. The evaluation was based on direct and indirect recommendations from employees who were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family.
"This recognition means so much because it is completely employee driven and shows how proud OLGers are of the work we do together," said Esther Zdolec, OLG's Senior Vice President of People and Culture. "Our employees are committed to doing good for Ontario and playing as one team. They support and value their colleagues and celebrate different perspectives and backgrounds. OLG could not do the good we do without the tremendous dedication of our employees."
OLG is a crown agency that develops world-class gaming entertainment for the Province of Ontario. Acting in a socially responsible way, OLG conducts and manages land-based gaming facilities; the sale of province-wide lottery games; Internet gaming; and the delivery of bingo and other electronic gaming products at Charitable Gaming Centres. OLG is also helping to build a more sustainable horse racing industry in Ontario. Since 1975, OLG has provided nearly $57 billion to the people and Province of Ontario to support key government priorities like health care; the treatment and prevention of problem gambling; and support for amateur athletes. Each year profits from OLG's operations also support host communities, Ontario First Nations, lottery retailers and local charities across the province.
