TORONTO, Sept. 11, 2013 /CNW/ - Ontario's doctors applaud the government's announcement today that it plans to move ahead with Bill 30, the Skin Cancer Prevention Act. Since 2010, Ontario's doctors have been sounding the alarm about the harmful effects of tanning beds, especially in children. Ultra violet (UV) rays in tanning beds are as dangerous as the UV rays from the sun, and exposure to these rays drastically increases the chances of getting skin cancer. Physicians urge all parties in the legislature to support this bill, to help ensure generations of young people are protected from the dangers of UV exposure.
