CALGARY, July 12, 2018 /CNW/ - Beginning Monday, Sept. 3, Calgary residents will get a new approach to local news with the launch of CityNews Calgary. Deep in the community, Video Journalists will seek out the hyper-local stories that matter most to the city to power the CityNews nightly broadcasts – featuring Kristen Fong, Kendra Fowler, Crystal Laderas, Michael Lumsden, Jonathan Muma, and Brittany Rosen.

The launch of CityNews Calgary on Sept. 3 coincides with the launch of sister CityNews programs in Montreal and Vancouver. Beginning Sept. 3, viewers across six of Canada's largest markets – Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, and Vancouver – can catch one-hour newscasts with a unique perspective on the local stories that matter most on CityNews at Six at 6 p.m. and CityNews Tonight at 11 p.m. local time, seven days a week.
Joining forces with Calgary's most trusted voice in news radio – 660 NEWS - CityNews Calgary will combine the best of both brands to deliver unparalleled multiplatform news coverage of the Calgary area.
Meet the new CityNews Calgary Team:
Kristen Fong – Fong is graduate from SAIT and previously worked as a Producer at Global News Radio. Fong brings her political knowledge, story ideas and contacts to her role on CityNews over the weekends.
Kendra Fowler – With a diploma in Broadcasting Journalism from Mount Royal University, Fowler kicked off her career at 660 NEWS. Fowler brings her extensive travel experience to her stories as part of the CityNews weekend team.
Crystal Laderas – Laderas has been honing her skills at Rogers' 660 NEWS since 2015 as a reporter and producer. Laderas launched her career in smaller markets, including Fort McMurray, AB and in Manitoba.
Michael Lumsden – Lumsden joined the team in 2017 as a reporter for Breakfast Television Calgary and CityNews. Lumsden has extensive experience reporting for radio stations in Ontario and Alberta, and was also a journalist at the Calgary Herald.
Jonathan Muma – Muma has extensive experience with newspaper, television and radio. With a Communications and Anthropology degree from York University, and a journalism certificate from Seneca College, Muma joins CityNews from 660 NEWS as the senior morning reporter.
Brittany Rosen – Rosen joins CityNews from CTV Regina as a reporter, broadcast and web producer. A recent journalism graduate from Ryerson University, Rosen also has experience writing at The Weather Network.
