Once again, SAS Canada Named One of Canada's Greenest Employers

Recognized for its Commitment to Environmental Sustainability Through its LEED Headquarters and Earth-Friendly Initiatives 

TORONTO, April 20, 2012 /CNW/ - SAS Canada, the leader in business analytics, today was named one of Canada's Greenest Employers for 2012. SAS Canada was recognized for its commitment to environmental sustainability, its LEED Silver certified headquarters, and its earth-friendly employee initiatives. The list is published by Mediacorp Canada Inc.

"Aside from our environmentally friendly LEED Silver Certified Toronto Headquarters what really keeps us "green" is our employee culture which regularly tells us that green initiatives and practices are important to them."

Launched in 2007, the Canada's Greenest Employers competition is organized by the editors of the Canada's Top 100 Employers project. This special designation recognizes the employers that lead the nation in creating a culture of environmental awareness in their organizations. These employers have developed exceptional earth-friendly initiatives -- and are attracting people to their organizations because of their environmental leadership.

Earlier in 2012 SAS Canada celebrated another successful year, announcing an eight per cent increase in total revenue over the previous year.  In response to ongoing growth and demand, SAS Canada announced that it will continue hiring for the third year in a row, adding over 40 new positions; this move will increase its current employee base by 15 per cent, acquiring further domain expertise in areas like Fraud detection and prevention, Customer Intelligence and Information Management, to support and respond to customer demand for its business analytic solutions in these areas.

In addition, SAS Canada has been named one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for ten consecutive years. Most recently SAS Canada was ranked No. 2 on the 2010 Best Workplaces in Canada list. Its environmentally friendly Toronto headquarters was LEED Silver certified in 2008 and the company continues to generate public recognition for its leadership in corporate sustainability practices. SAS Canada was honoured with the Award of Excellence - energy conservation - at the 2009 Green Toronto Awards. The headquarters was also the winner of the Real Estate Excellence Award (REX) for Office Development of the Year in 2005.
