TORONTO, Aug. 30, 2012 /CNW/ - Tomorrow is the last day to cast a ballot at an advance poll or to apply to vote by mail in advance of the September 6 by-elections in Kitchener - Waterloo and Vaughan. All eligible electors who are interested in voting early are encouraged to visit wemakevotingeasy.ca to find out where to vote.
Elections Ontario would like to remind voters that August 31 at 6 p.m. is also the last day to submit an application to vote by mail. Applications can be downloaded from wemakevotingeasy.ca or completed at the local returning office. Applications must be accompanied by a photocopy of a piece of ID that includes name and residential address. Applications can be emailed, faxed, couriered or returned in person to local returning offices or to Elections Ontario.
Electors can continue to vote in person at local returning offices using the assistive voting technology or by Special Ballot until September 5 at 6 p.m.
"To help us ensure your voting experience is easy and efficient, whether you choose to vote in advance or on election day, bring your Notice of Registration Card and one piece of identification that proves both name and home address" said Greg Essensa, Ontario's Chief Electoral Officer.
Voters can also be added to the Voters List when they go to vote at advance polls or on election day. We encourage voters to visit wemakevotingeasy.ca for a comprehensive list of acceptable identification documents.
Elections Ontario is the non-partisan agency responsible for administering provincial elections, by-elections and referenda.
