Ontario Government employee charged with accessing and possessing child
pornography
ORILLIA, ON, May 19 /CNW/ - An employee of the Government of Ontario faces two child pornography-related charges following an investigation by members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Section.
The Ministry of Government Services' Corporate Security Branch notified the OPP that child pornography images had been discovered on the work computer of an employee of the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, based in Orillia.
On May 19, 2010, as a result of an investigation by the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Section, 52-year-old Richard J. COOK of Penetanguishene was charged with Accessing Child Pornography and Possessing Child Pornography contrary to the Criminal Code.
COOK was remanded into custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on May 20, 2010 at 9:00 am at 114 Worsley Street, Barrie, Ontario.
