Pierre Noel to continue association's focus on advancing quality patient care
TORONTO, Nov. 4, 2014 /CNW/ - Pierre Noel, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Pembroke Regional Hospital, has been named Chair of the Ontario Hospital Association's (OHA) Board of Directors.
Mr. Noel, who has been a member of the Board since 2011, was elected to the position of Chair following the OHA's Annual General Meeting of Members, held during HealthAchieve, the association's award-winning annual conference. HealthAchieve is one of the largest health care conferences of its kind in North America.
"I look forward to serving as the OHA Board Chair and furthering the organization's commitment to helping advance high-quality patient care in Ontario's hospitals," says Mr. Noel. "This is a time of transition and growth within Ontario's health care system. I am excited to work with OHA members and health system partners to continue to deliver outstanding patient care, for years to come."

Mr. Noel, who, for the past year has served as the Board's Vice-Chair, was also a member of the Governance, Nominating, Executive and Finance Committees. He was also the past chair of the OHA's Small, Rural and Northern Leadership Council, and a past Vice-Chair of the OHA's Medium-Sized Hospital Leadership Council.
Pierre Noël
First elected to the OHA Board in November 2011, Pierre Noel has been the President and CEO at Pembroke Regional Hospital since 2006. Prior to that, he was the President and CEO at the Wellington Healthcare Alliance. Originally from Pembroke, Ontario, Pierre has held a number of senior positions in both the public and private health care sectors, including a role as special consultant to the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long‐Term Care as part of its Health Reform Implementation Team; Vice‐President of Corporate Development at Aetna Health Management; Vice‐President of Business Development at Columbia Health Care; Director of the Children's Program at Laurentian Hospital in Sudbury; and Director of Administrative Services at the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group.
