Ontario Hospital Association Wins Third Consecutive Best Workplaces in Canada Award
TORONTO, April 11, 2013 /CNW/ - The Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as one of the Best Workplaces in Canada, for the third consecutive year. The OHA ranked 9th among the top 100 companies. The full list appeared in a special national report on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, in The Globe and Mail.
"This is our third consecutive commendation, and we thank the Great Place to Work Institute Canada, for this high honour and recognition," says Pat Campbell, OHA President and CEO. "This is a testament to the dedication of our valued employees and of the wonderful and unique culture the OHA enjoys."0
The list of Best Workplaces in Canada is compiled by the Great Place to Work® Institute, Canada. The competition process is based on a survey open to all full time employees, along with their open-ended comments about their organization and an in-depth review of the organization's culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. This offers a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall portrait of the workplace culture. Together, they provide crucial data relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a Great Place to Work®: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie. Over 300 organizations across Canada participated in this year's national competition.
Based on the results of the Great Place to Work® employee surveys, the OHA also earned the following achievements:
- Best Workplaces in Canada in the Respect Dimension - The OHA was one of only five organizations that scored the highest in the employee survey under the respect dimension.
- Best Workplaces in Canada for Women - Of the 100 Best Workplaces in Canada, 25 companies were awarded with the Best Workplaces for Women, in which the OHA ranked 9th, in recognition of practices that enable women to advance themselves personally and professionally, and better address some of the complex challenges women face, including balancing career and family responsibilities.
