Ontario Long Term Care Companies Recognized Nationally for Leadership and
Excellence

MARKHAM, ON, Oct. 9 /CNW/ - The Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA) is delighted to congratulate two of its members on being nationally recognized for the levels of excellence they have achieved in developing quality relationships and processes within their organizations.

OMNI Health Care Ltd. has just been recognized as being one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for 2010 in the annual competition by Mediacorp Canada Inc. In September, Diversicare Canada was named recipient of the National Quality Institute's Order of Excellence Award for continuous excellence in quality.

"We applaud the owners, management and staff at OMNI Health Care and Diversicare Canada for their leadership and commitment to excellence that resulted in this distinguished recognition," said Christina Bisanz , OLTCA CEO. "It reflects a desire I see across our membership to be the best that they can be for the benefit of the residents they serve."

In announcing the top 100 employers, Mediacorp noted that the winners were distinguished by demonstrating a return to 'old fashioned values' of 'stability and job security.' This is the second time Diversicare has won the National Quality Institute's highest award recognizing a sustained commitment to a quality and healthy workplace, having first achieved this recognition in 2006.

OMNI Health Care is based in Peterborough and operates 17 long term care homes that provide care and services to over 1,400 residents, primarily in eastern Ontario. Diversicare Canada manages seven long term care homes in Ontario providing care and services to over 1,000 residents.

OLTCA represents the not-for-profit, charitable, municipal and private operators of 430 long term care homes that provide care and services to some 50,000 residents throughout Ontario.
