ONTARIO LOTTO MAX PLAYERS CASH IN ON CHRISTMAS EVE DRAW
TORONTO, Dec. 26 /CNW/ - Santa was generous to Ontario LOTTO MAX players in the Friday, December 24 draw. While no-one held the winning ticket for the $50 million jackpot, Ontario ticket holders still won some major prizes including three MAXMILLIONS prizes, one BONUS prize and the game's second prize.
Two winning tickets, one from Toronto and one from Peterborough, will split the second prize of $431,728.
Owen Sound and Hamilton area LOTTO MAX players should check their tickets, as a $1 million MAXMILLIONS prize was won in each of those communities. A third Toronto ticket holder has the winning ticket for a $1 million MAXMILLIONS prize that will be split with two other winning tickets from outside Ontario, for a prize of $333,333.
There was one winning ticket from the six extra $1 million BONUS draws offered to Ontario players only. The winning ticket holder is also from the Toronto region.
MAXMILLIONS are added to the game when the jackpot reaches an estimated $50 million. MAXMILLIONS prizes are drawn separately from the LOTTO MAX jackpot draw, which means that a LOTTO MAX ticket not only gives players a chance at $50 million but also the chance to win any of the $1 million MAXMILLIONS draws on the same date.
Since its launch in September 2009, Ontario LOTTO MAX players have won more than $365.6 million in prizes, including 5 jackpot wins and 82 winning MAXMILLIONS tickets from all across the province.
For each $5 play, LOTTO MAX players receive three sets of seven numbers ranging from one to forty-nine. ENCORE is also available on LOTTO MAX for $1.
