Ontario Sewer and Watermain Construction industry congratulates Premier Kathleen Wynne and the Ontario Liberal Party
TORONTO, June 13, 2014 /CNW/ - The Ontario Sewer and Watermain Construction Association (OSWCA) and all of its members would like to congratulate Kathleen Wynne on her election as Premier of Ontario and the Liberal Party for garnering a majority mandate in the province.
"We look forward to continuing our work with the Government, maintaining and expanding water and waste-water infrastructure to ensure clean water continues to flow to Ontario residents and waste-water is appropriately taken care of," said OSWCA President Cindy McCarthy.
OSWCA supports the Liberal Party commitment to long-term investment in core infrastructure as a means of addressing the significant infrastructure deficit in the province.
"Water and waste-water infrastructure has been particularly underfunded in previous decades, and we are encouraged by the Wynne government's commitment to continuing to close this funding gap," said OSWCA Executive Director Giovanni Cautillo.
OSWCA will continue to work with its government partners to address water and waste-water infrastructure issues, particularly as they relate to a standardized asset management system for the province and full-cost recovery for water and waste-water infrastructure assets.
The OSWCA is the voice of the sewer and watermain industry in the province, representing over 800 companies across Ontario including contractors, manufacturers, and distributors who build, supply, and service the sewer and watermain construction sector.
