Ontario Shores Appointment Notice
WHITBY, ON, June 30 /CNW/ - Eric Fonberg, MD, MPH, MBA, CCFP (EM) Chair of the Board, Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores) is pleased to announce the following appointments:
Reappointment of Glenna Raymond, President and CEO, BScN, MBA, CHE
Glenna joined the organization in 2005 and as the inaugural President and CEO, she guided the Board of Directors through the organization's transition of becoming a public hospital. Glenna also championed the creation of a new mission, vision, values and strategic plan.
"Glenna has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to Ontario Shores and working collaboratively with patients, families, staff and community partners to strengthen the mental health care system," says Dr. Fonberg. "She is an advocate for patient and staff safety, improving access to mental health care services and supporting transparency and accountability. Glenna is a true visionary and inspirational leader and we are fortunate to have her guide the Ontario Shores team."
Glenna has been an integral contributor to the hospital's local governance, community engagement initiatives, and building the hospital's academic mandate as a teaching facility.
"I am very pleased to be continuing on this journey at Ontario Shores," says Glenna. "We have helped so many people affected by mental illness and made many valuable contributions to the mental health care system. We have very dedicated staff and I am so proud of the work we do for our patients and the communities we serve."
Board of Directors Appointments
Dr. Fonberg is also pleased to welcome the following new board members:
- Douglas Armstrong owns a consulting business and has significant Board experience in both profit and public sectors, currently serving on the Community Futures Development Corporation, also on the Greater Toronto Airports Authority Board of Directors. He has served as General Manager of the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce and on the Go Transit Board of Directors. - JoAnne Butler is a senior executive with over 31 years of experience in the oil and gas and power sectors. She brings board and senior leadership and international experience as well as extensive knowledge in the areas of government, risk and human resources. Currently, she is Vice-President, Electricity Resources at Ontario Power Authority and has held management and executive level positions throughout North America. - Michael Dewson is Vice Provost, Faculty Affairs with Ryerson University. Dewson is a registered psychologist and has also held senior academic leadership roles at Laurentian University. He brings over 20 years experience as a senior university administrator and senior staff member for university boards and board committees. He has extensive knowledge of evidence-based programming and leadership experience in complex multi-system organizations, strategy and organization transformation.
