Ontario Taxpayers Being Misled by Rosy Predictions and Censorship in Climate Change Discussions says Friends of Science
CALGARY, March 31, 2015 /CNW/ - The current Ontario Climate Change Discussions are founded on a document full of rosy predictions that are not borne out by the evidence in Europe and the UK, says Friends of Science Society. Europe and the UK adopted carbon taxes and stringent climate change policies, only to find that the financial burden fell onto taxpayers, not big business.
These and other consequences are summarized in Friends of Science new report "Ideology or Evidence."
Friends of Science note that people critical of the Ontario scheme are reporting that their precautionary statements and skeptical comments are being censored from government reports on recent public consultations, as reported March 24, 2015 by Canadian Free Press.
Much of the Ontario Climate Change Discussion document rests heavily on statements and reports by advocacy groups and fails to mention the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group I (Physical Sciences) report of Sept. 2013 wherein the IPCC revealed a 15 year long hiatus in global warming that it could not explain. According to Friends of Science, the uncertainties expressed by the physical science report are ignored by the Ontario government in favor of apocalyptic claims in reports from groups with known agendas or vested interests in carbon taxes.
Friends of Science recommend that Ontario citizens read the Friends report "Ideology or Evidence" for a clearer picture of the economic devastation that carbon taxes and climate change policies have unleashed in other jurisdictions.
Numerous commentators have challenged the IPCC's claim as an unbiased scientific organization. Just released in English on Amazon Kindle in Canada is the work of Belgian jurist and philosopher Drieu Godefridi "The IPCC – a Scientific Body?" (Also available in French: "Le GIEC est mort, vive la science!")
About
Friends of Science have spent a decade reviewing a broad spectrum of literature on climate change and have concluded the sun is the main driver of climate change, not carbon dioxide (CO2). The core group of the Friends of Science is a growing group of earth, atmospheric and solar scientists, engineers and citizens.
