TORONTO, Feb. 15, 2012 /CNW/ - Outward Bound Canada OBC has been awarded a $150,000 Ontario Trillium Foundation grant over two years to build their urban base and infrastructure in Toronto, utilizing the funds to achieve key strategic objectives including accessibility and sustainability.
Sarah Wiley, Executive Director of OBC says, "We are very excited about the infusion of the Trillium funds which will assist in our transformation from a wilderness-based developer of human potential, into an organization that also provides life-changing leadership programs to inner city youth in an urban setting. Our goal at the end of the two-year funding cycle is to double the number of participants involved in our Urban programs."
Trillium funds will enable Outward Bound to focus energy on building effective and sustainable programs and strong community partnerships, ensuring the long-term success of their transformative work with urban youth. Follow OBC's program blog and Facebook page.
