TORONTO, July 29, 2015 /CNW/ - Kidney Cancer Canada is pleased to announce leading researcher and Uro-Oncologist, Dr. Anil Kapoor, as the new Chair of its Medical Advisory Board.
As the Director of the McMaster Institute of Urology at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, Dr. Kapoor knows first-hand the importance of providing patients with the most current advances in kidney cancer treatment.
Dr. Kapoor takes over from outgoing Chair Dr. Lori Wood. "It is an honour to succeed Dr. Wood as Chair this progressive and knowledgeable group of clinicians", says Kapoor. "We support Kidney Cancer Canada as a vital source of information and support for patients and caregivers".
ABOUT DR. KAPOOR
Dr. Anil Kapoor is a leading researcher and clinician in the fields of kidney cancer and prostate cancer. He serves as the Head, Genito-Urinary Oncology Program at the Juravinski Cancer Centre at McMaster University and is an affiliated researcher of the Research Institute of St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton.
Kapoor is entering his eighth year as a member of the Kidney Cancer Canada Medical Advisory Board and represents the Kidney Cancer Research Network of Canada. He is also Chair of the Kidney Cancer Disease Site committee of the National Cancer Institute of Canada Clinical Trials Group and the Canadian Urologic Oncology Group.
