TORONTO, Oct. 31, 2014 /CNW/ - On November 1, The Ontario Association of Children's Aid Societies and Children's Aid Societies across Ontario will launch a campaign to educate the public and prospective parents that all children and youth in care need and deserve a lifelong safe and loving home.
Children need to feel a sense of belonging, with a permanent family that will love and nurture them always. There are almost 7,000 children and youth in the care of Children's Aid for whom adoption may be an option. All children and youth, including older youth, sibling groups and children or youth with disabilities deserve the lifelong connection that family brings. While adoption is one option for finding a family, lifelong connections for children and youth may also be made through legal custody, kinship care and customary care.
Where: Across Ontario, Children's Aid Societies are participating in this bilingual awareness campaign.
When: Adoption Awareness Month launches on November 1, 2014 and lasts for the entire month.
