Ontario's doctors applaud Legislature for passing Skin Cancer Prevention Act
TORONTO, Oct. 9, 2013 /CNW/ - Ontario's doctors applaud the Ontario legislature for unanimously passing the Skin Cancer Prevention Act. This legislation will save lives by ensuring generations of young people are protected from the harmful effects of tanning beds. Since 2010, Ontario's doctors have been sounding the alarm about the dangers of tanning beds, especially for children. Ultra violet (UV) rays in tanning beds are as dangerous as the UV rays from the sun, and exposure to these rays drastically increases the chances of getting skin cancer. Ontario's doctors congratulate all parties for their support of this important health initiative.
