MULTISENSORY SNOEZELEN ROOM: A NEW MONITORING TOOL TO SUPPORT PATIENTS
MONTREAL, Dec. 10, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Mount Sinai Hospital Montreal invites journalists to an open house for its new Snoezelen room, a state-of-the-art facility for relaxation and sensory stimulation. This new therapeutic approach consists of varied, interactive sensory experiences that reduce stress and anxiety in patients or enhance stimulation of the senses. The activities experienced in the Snoezelen room allow patients to enjoy a moment of tranquility, which encourages self-control and autonomy, as well as helping them get over their inhibitions and reduce tensions, in complete freedom and in retreat from their regular treatment area.
Journalists can try the Snoezelen room and experience the same sensations as patients do during treatment.
