OJEN's Chief Justices' Award is an annual award created by all three Chief Justices to recognize exceptional contributions in promoting public understanding, education or dialogue in support of a responsive and inclusive justice system. The Award recognizes an individual who has made an exceptional contribution to the furtherance of OJEN's objectives by reaching out to under-served communities, developing innovations, establishing effective partnerships contributing to justice education programming. This year's nominees came from all over the province. The three Chief Justices will make the presentation to the recipient. | |
3:30 p.m. | Special Sitting of the Courts to mark the Official Opening of the Courts of Ontario for 2010 |
Location: Courtroom 6-1, Court House, 361 University Avenue, Toronto | |
Special sitting of the Courts of Ontario at which the Chief Justices will deliver reports on the work of their respective courts. The Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, (the Honourable David C. Onley), the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada (the Honourable Rob Nicholson), the Attorney General of Ontario (the Honourable Chris Bentley), and the Treasurer of the Law Society of Upper Canada (Laurie Pawlitza) will address the Court. | |
