OpenTable Announces 100 Best Restaurants for Groups in Canada

Winners' List Recognizes Restaurants in Seven Provinces Where Large Parties Will be Well Served This Holiday Season

TORONTO, Dec. 3, 2015 /CNW/ -- With the holiday season in full swing, it's time to celebrate with friends, family and colleagues. OpenTable, the world's leading provider of online restaurant reservations and part of The Priceline Group (NASDAQ: PCLN), today unveiled the 2015 100 Best Restaurants for Groups in Canada. The list reflects the combined opinions of more than 275,000 restaurant reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for more than 1,600 restaurants in Canada.

The list features restaurants from seven provinces which OpenTable diners have ranked as favourites when dining in groups of five or more. Ontario leads all provinces with 57 winning restaurants, followed by Alberta with 17, British Columbia with 16 and Quebec with six.

The 100 Best Restaurants for Groups in Canada list was generated from more than 275,000 restaurant reviews collected from verified OpenTable diners between November 1, 2014 and October 31, 2015. All restaurants with a minimum number of qualifying reviews and "overall" rating were included for consideration. Qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the percentage of qualifying reviews for which "good for groups" was selected as a special feature.
