"Tempo Box keeps both content and social interactions at the heart of collaboration to help companies grow into highly productive and integrated organizations. With the shift in communication models from hierarchical to social, enterprises want to accelerate the flow of information to make decisions faster at all levels of the organization," said Muhi Majzoub, Senior Vice-President Engineering at OpenText. "By embedding social collaboration capabilities into existing and new EIM applications, we can extend the social experience across our product suites to deliver an engaging, secure and productive work environment."
OpenText Tempo provides customers with an easier and more secure way to coordinate purpose-driven collaboration in a business environment, by combining the convenience of file sync and share with social collaboration and seamless integration to Content Server. With OpenText Tempo, all structured and unstructured information is now made available and kept in sync with Content Server, providing one data model in a common repository with multiple views which can be leveraged to enable compliance.
"I was impressed when I had a chance to see OpenText Tempo in action at Enterprise World in Orlando, and love the idea of being able to embed a social experience into other EIM applications via the new restful APIs," said Allen Bonde, Partner and Principal Analyst, Digital Clarity Group. "Also, built-in integrations with their Tempo Box application and Content Server help organizations keep content at the core of social collaboration, while still being secure and enabling compliance. As many organizations look to become more responsive social businesses, providing useful tools for everyday tasks and deploying social in the flow of work are values that are certain to resonate well in the market."
Tempo Note, Tempo Social and Tempo Box are a powerful combination to enable content sharing and facilitate collaborative dialogue. Tempo Note, a new capability of Tempo Box, gives users an integrated note-taking tool to capture ideas, share thoughts, record meeting notes, add context to file sync, and share activities.
The new set of API's, available through the OpenText AppWorks Gateway, provides a common RESTful API tier which exposes all of the Tempo functionality, making it simple and easy for OpenText customers and partners to write their own custom applications or integrate with their existing systems.
Tempo Social will now have a hybrid HTML5 based mobile application available out-of-the-box as part of the AppWorks Mobile suite. With the Tempo Social app, users will be able to post and reply to status updates, upload photos, browse and search user profiles, follow their colleagues, share blog posts, and more. The mobile application will be available on iOS and Android platforms.
With OpenText ECM platform underpinning OpenText Tempo, information is governed by an industry-leading Content Suite that provides security, information governance and a "single source of truth".
OpenText Tempo also integrates with the OpenText Experience Suite, which includes offerings that are designed to help create a richer, more interactive, and consistent online experience across multiple channels, mobile devices, and social networks. These offerings, together with OpenText ECM, BPM, Information Exchange and Discovery, underpin OpenText's strategy to lead the market in Enterprise Information Management (EIM). OpenText announced Project Red Oxygen, a coordinated set of software releases focused on innovation and integration, at its annual user conference Enterprise World in Orlando, Florida in November, 2013.
