OPG Looks Forward to Securing New Collective Agreement with PWU
Ontario Government Passes Legislation to Allow for a Fair Resolution Process
TORONTO, Dec. 20, 2018 /CNW/ - With amendments to the Labour Relations Act 1995, in place, Ontario Power Generation (OPG) will resume working with the Power Workers Union (PWU) on a new collective agreement.

The Ontario government passed legislation today that amends the Labour Relations Act, 1995, to prohibit and stop any strikes or lockouts between OPG and PWU for the current round of bargaining. Outstanding matters will be referred to a mediator-arbitrator for a fair dispute resolution process, which is expected to take approximately 90 days.
OPG generates safe, clean, reliable, low-cost power for Ontario. More than 99 per cent of this power is free of smog and carbon emissions. OPG's power is priced an average of 40 per cent lower than other generators, which helps moderate customer bills.
