Arbitrator William Kaplan will issue his award Wednesday morning to settle all contract matters in dispute between OPSEU and the College Employer Council. Those matters went to arbitration after faculty and the colleges could not reach a settlement over the course of a five-week strike that began October 16. The provincial government legislated striking faculty back to work on November 19.
OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas will be joined at the news conference by JP Hornick, chair of the OPSEU college faculty bargaining team, and bargaining team members.
The union will not be commenting on the award until the news conference.
