OSC Announces Details on Roundtable on Proposed Best Interest Standard and Targeted Reforms to Enhance the Client-Registrant Relationship
TORONTO, Nov. 10, 2016 /CNW/ - The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) today announced additional details regarding the roundtable that it will host on December 6, 2016 to further explore issues raised in CSA Consultation Paper 33-404 Proposals to Enhance the Obligations of Advisers, Dealers and Representatives Toward Their Clients. The roundtable is being held as part of the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) ongoing consultation process on these proposed reforms.
The roundtable will take place on December 6, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd floor of the Commission's offices, located at 20 Queen Street West in Toronto, Ontario. A live audio webcast of the event will also be available, so that attendees can participate remotely.
The event will include two panel discussions: one on the proposed best interest standard and one on the targeted reforms. The panels will reflect a diversity of views, so as to facilitate a balanced debate. The OSC expects to provide additional details, including the final agenda and list of panelists, no later than December 1, 2016.
