OSC announces new SME Institute webinars
TORONTO, Oct. 25, 2016 /CNW/ - The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) announced a new lineup of free webinars for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as part of the 'OSC SME Institute.'
An archived replay of the webinars will be available on our website and YouTube and will cover current trends and the regulator's observations in the following areas: mining disclosure essentials; best practices for meeting continuous disclosure obligations; financing options for SMEs; and navigating insider reporting and the System for Electronic Disclosure by Insiders (SEDI).

The OSC SME Institute offers free seminars and webinars for SMEs to help them understand and navigate the requirements of being or becoming a public company in Ontario. The program informs SMEs in industries across Ontario on avoiding common deficiencies and gives SMEs the opportunity to hear first-hand from OSC Staff on the latest issues that have an impact on their markets.
The mandate of the OSC is to provide protection to investors from unfair, improper or fraudulent practices and to foster fair and efficient capital markets and confidence in the capital markets.
