OSC Requests Applications for Small and Medium Enterprises Committee
TORONTO, Dec. 7, 2015 /CNW/ - The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is seeking members for its Small and Medium Enterprises Committee (SMEC). Interested parties should submit their application, indicating their relevant experience, by December 21, 2015. The current SMEC's term has expired, and Staff thank the outgoing members for their valuable contributions.
The SMEC advises Staff on matters related to small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Committee members discuss the development, implementation and communication of policies and practices to address issues affecting SMEs, in the pursuit of capital market efficiency, investor protection and economic growth.
The SMEC meets approximately five times a year, with members serving a one-year term. The committee consists of 10 to 15 members with a variety of perspectives. Members will be selected for their knowledge of – and experience related to – the particular challenges facing SMEs in the regulatory context. The SMEC is chaired by Jo-Anne Matear, Manager, Corporate Finance Branch, at the OSC.
