TORONTO, June 16, 2014 /CNW/ - The Ontario Teachers' Federation congratulates Premier Wynne on her election victory.
"The Liberals campaigned on investment in a strong education system in Ontario which included supports for students from junior kindergarten to post-secondary education. These investments are important, not only for today's generation of students, but for Ontario's future as well," said Julie Pauletig, President of the OTF. "Strong public services, including education, are a cornerstone to a prosperous and just society."
"Ontario's education system is regarded as world-class. We have met with visitors from many jurisdictions keen on understanding the successes we have experienced in recent years in Ontario. We trust the Liberal Government will maintain the supports which have been put in place for Ontario's students to assist them in achieving their education goals. We look forward to working with this government to support quality publicly funded education for Ontario's children and youth," concluded Pauletig.
The Ontario Teachers' Federation is the advocate for the teaching profession in Ontario and for its 160,000 teachers. OTF members are full-time, part-time and occasional teachers in all publicly funded schools in the province – elementary, secondary, public, Catholic and francophone.
