Ottawa-based designer & publisher launch pizza board game with pizza party

OTTAWA, Sept. 4, 2014 /CNW/ - Local board game designer Yves Tourigny and UniForge are proud to launch Top This! a fun-filled, strategic and dexterity game of pizza making. The game challenges players to fulfill pizza orders by flicking toppings in crokinole-like play.

"I am immensely pleased that Top This! is making its way to game tables," says Yves. "Game design is a passion of mine, and it's been rewarding to collaborate with a local company who feels as strongly as I do to bring this concept to life."

The game was partially funded via a Kickstarter campaign, and Ottawa-Gatineau backers have been invited to a pizza party at the Games for All Store & Lounge to celebrate its arrival.

"We were attracted by the family-friendly nature of the game," says Amy Boyce, owner of Games for All. "We believe in the power of creative play to bring people together, and Top This! was a natural fit."

Games for All also hosts "Protonights" for local game designers to playtest their games. The Lounge offers a unique space in the social gaming community where the public can meet designers and learn about the entire process of creating a game.

The Top This! party will be held on Friday, September 5, 6pm at the Games for All, located at 346 Richmond Road, 2nd floor. For more on Games for All visit http://gamesforall.ca.

Yves is a member of Game Artisans of Canada and has had two other games published: Blueprints (Z-Man Games) and Expedition: Northwest Passage (Matagot).
