New agreement grows Ernst & Young footprint and opportunities to give back to local community
OTTAWA, Nov. 1, 2012 /CNW/ - The CE Centre — the largest event and exhibition venue in Eastern Ontario — has a new name. Effective immediately, the centre will now be the Ernst & Young Centre, following an agreement signed between Ernst & Young in Canada and Capital Exhibition Centre LLP.
More than one million visitors are expected to pass through the centre's doors each year. The 220,000-square-foot purpose-built exhibition and trade show facility offers four state-of-the-art exhibit halls, meeting rooms, banquet facilities and extensive parking.
"We are extremely proud to have our name atop this beautiful centre in the nation's capital. This visibility is unparalleled, and speaks loudly to the importance of Ottawa as a key connection point in Canada's business landscape," explains Trent Henry, Ernst & Young Chairman and CEO. "Above all, this partnership empowers Ernst & Young — and our people — to build bridges to the broader business community in a big, bold way through the events that bring them together. That's something we're very excited about."
"Not only does this partnership speak to Ernst & Young's real connection to the Ottawa business community, but it will also allow us to further our corporate responsibility reach across the region," adds Deanna Monaghan, Ernst & Young's Ottawa Office Managing Partner. "Through the many charitable contributions and initiatives the centre is a part of, we'll be able to give back right here in Ottawa, where we work and live."
"We are thrilled to have entered into this agreement with a firm of Ernst & Young's calibre. This will certainly help us to continue to create a real buzz in the community and increase the profile of this important piece of community infrastructure," says Kevin McCrann, President, Capital Exhibition Centre LLP. "Our bookings have been very strong since we opened less than a year ago. The Ernst & Young Centre will continue to attract visitors from all over North America as well as serve the residents of Ottawa."
A formal ceremony will follow in the coming weeks to coincide with the installation of Ernst & Young's sign on the building.
