LONDON, ON, Aug. 31, 2017 /CNW/ - Four exceptionally bright and community-minded students are beginning
their university education with a little help from the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame |
Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life Scholarship. One high school student in each of four regions across Canada has been named to this scholarship that provides $4,000 toward their undergraduate degree in medicine or a health science field at a Canadian university.
The 2017 scholarship recipients are: Anchaleena Mandal of Iqaluit, NU; Lisa Foudil of Montreal, QC; Matthew Faltyn of Mississauga, ON; and Mehul Gupta of Calgary, AB. Between them these young leaders have received more than 50 academic and leadership awards and have founded or contributed significantly to 12 community service and charitable organizations. Report on 2017 Scholarship Winners
Four young Canadians with stellar academic careers and a passion for helping others and improving lives have been selected as this year's winners of the 2017 Canadian Medical Hall of Fame / Great‐West Life, London Life and Canada Life Scholarship Award. Each recipient receives $4,000 toward a four‐year undergraduate degree in a health sciences related field. Our scholarship program is administered in association with the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC). The selection committee is currently chaired by Dr. Michael J. Rieder of Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University and includes the CMHF board student rep and a faculty of medicine administrator.
