TORONTO, June 17, 2013 /CNW/ - Bold, intriguing works from 15 of Canada's finest emerging visual artists were announced today as finalists in the 2013 RBC Canadian Painting Competition. Celebrating its 15th anniversary, the RBC Canadian Painting Competition helps discover and support new Canadian artists in the early stages of their careers, as part of RBC's ongoing commitment to the arts.
RBC will award a total of $115,000 in prize money. The winner will receive a cash prize of $25,000, while two honourable mentions will each receive $15,000. In addition, all 15 finalists will have the opportunity to spend a full day being mentored by the RBC Canadian Painting Competition jurors. The jurors are some of Canada's most respected artists, gallery directors, curators and art critics, to help develop their careers and practice.
