Owners of Hercules SUV tires reminded to check if tires have been recalled - Potential risk of failure in recall tires Français
OTTAWA, May 11, 2017 /CNW/ - Transport Canada encourages all owners of Hercules light truck and SUV tires to check if their tires were recalled.
A recall of 6 models of tires, manufactured between 2007 and 2011, was issued in 2015. The rate of recovery for this recall is low. The recalled tires are prone to sudden tread separation, which could result in a loss of vehicle control and a crash.
Hercules dealers will replace the tires of anyone affected by this recall with safer options. All models of this tire that are affected are listed on Transport Canada's website under recall #2015346.
Transport Canada encourages all owners to register their tires with the tire manufacturer when first purchased. This allows a manufacturer to easily contact the owner should there ever be a recall.
The Department is not aware of any incidents of these tires failing in Canada, but drivers may be unaware that their tires are recalled unless they were registered with the manufacturer.
Quick Facts (optional)
- A total of 10,000 are affected by this recall.
- The original recall was issued in July of 2015.
