P-MEC China and Co-Located Shows Provide Access to Growing Markets and Debut Zoning
AMSTERDAM, May 23, 2012 /CNW/-- Leading events organiser UBM Live today announced details of the forthcoming P-MEC China, to be hosted 26th to 28th June, 2012 at the SNIEC in Shanghai, China. P-MEC China, for pharmaceutical machinery and equipment resources, will be co-located with a Pharma portfolio of events including CPhI China for pharmaceutical ingredients, ICSE China for contract and outsourced services, BioPh China for the biopharmaceutical sector, InnoPack China for innovative packaging services and solutions and LABWorld China for laboratory and analytical equipment needs. Over three days, the portfolio will provide a single location for visitors to access products, services and solutions across the diverse sectors of the pharmaceutical industry. Combined, the annual events are once again expected to host more than 27,000 attendees and 1,700 exhibitors. P-MEC China alone will feature over 100 conferences, seminars and technical workshops focused on the growing pharmaceutical manufacturing sector in China, and will host more than 450 exhibitors showcasing products and services tailored to the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.
"China's growing technology and engineering skills have made it an increasingly attractive destination for pharma companies to partner with. Growth has proved consistent across the various sectors of this emerging pharmaceutical market, with particular strength shown in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector. An aging global population, improved global healthcare system regulations and the rise of generics are all factors that continue to play into this growth. In fact, the strong outlook for pharmaceutical manufacturing in China includes an 8.7 percent predicted annual increase in the demand for packaging machinery in China through 2014(1)," UBM Brand Director, Haf Cennydd commented. She further stated that, "Price, quality and customer service have come to the forefront as Asian companies realise that they cannot afford the long periods of downtime caused by old or ineffective machinery. As Asia improves machinery in order to meet GMP standards, western countries will now have access to upmarket machinery at downmarket prices."
A new zone-based layout is being introduced at P-MEC China and co-located events in 2012. The zoning layout promises to ease navigation throughout the events in order to minimise walking and maximise meeting time for visitors. Specifically, P-MEC China will feature a general zone, a machinery and equipment zone and an environmental protection and clean technology zone. The new InnoPack China event will provide a dedicated pharmaceutical packaging zone and co-located event, CPhI China will feature zones for general ingredients, APIs, intermediates, fine chemicals and natural extracts, while ICSE China will be split between contract services and outsourcing.
"Zoning will enable easier navigation of the events and give attendees and exhibitors more face time to do business," continued Cennydd. "In P-MEC China, the new zone offerings have been introduced in response to current market demands and upcoming projected changes. For instance, the new Environmental Protection and Clean Technology zone in P-MEC was added in response to industry expectations that the Chinese government will announce new GMP manufacturer regulations for environmental protection in 2013 and beyond. Industry experts believe that changes like this will create great demand, including an estimated $47.5M for air cleaning systems alone(2). The new zones help to highlight various solutions for these changing industry needs and reflect the UBM commitment to ensuring that our events stay in tune with the market and add value year over year as the Chinese pharma market continues to grow and the regulatory environment evolves."
